it's always smart to have some diamond detective tools with you before investing on the most expensive stones. the jem-ii diamond tester detects diamond including natural diamond & manmade diamond (moissanite) from regular stones. then jem-iii with uv detects manmade diamond (moissanite) from diamond.

1.    diapro diamond tester utilizes the feature of high thermal conductivity of diamond. it effectively and quickly distinguishes natural diamond from all models of diamond simulates and metals, except synthetic moissanite which has similar thermal conductivity to diamond.

• use gem cloth to clean stones to be tested.
• gently apply the testing probe to the tested stone perpendicularly. for loose stone, stone should be placed on loose stone testing base.
•  if led lights up to red zone with three periodic beep sounds, then the tested stone is diamond.
• the stone is a simulant, if all led bars don’t light up or only go to green or yellow zone (it varies from different models of simulant). 
•  expect continuous beep sound to test stones set in metal objectives such as rings and earrings.
•  recommended testing environmental temperature to be from 18°c to 30°c. stone temperature should be same as environmental temperature. environmental temperature exceeding 35°c will cause incorrect testing results.
• replace battery immediately as soon as red light dims.
• when testing small stones (10pt below), it is recommended to take off the diamond from body, let them cool down to room temperature (from 18°c to 30°c), then conduct testing, or you perhaps would get incorrect testing results.
•  switch slide to ultraviolet, ultraviolet led will light up to test fluorescent reaction of stones under ultraviolet light.
•  ac adaptor (110v-240v, dc 9v) is recommended (optional) for long time indoor operation.
• no need to calibrate when testing stones with sizes over 5pt.
• adjust the level meter volume to add lighted columns in led level meter bars to meet special needs when testing stones with sizes less than 5pt.

ü      if not use for a long time, battery should be removed from the tester.

ü      always slide switch to off after use.

ü      always place the protective cover over the probe.

ü      replace battery immediately as soon as red light dims.

ü      keep the probe tip clean.

ü      opening of tester other than to replace battery voids the warranty.

instruction to use:

       testing: 

• use gem cloth to clean stones to be tested.
• make sure to use a diamond tester to test all the stones to be tested first, so that the fake stones other than diamond or moissanite could be excluded first.
• to hold the tester with one hand with a finger to touch the conductive panel on top side of the tester. 
• for inlaid stones, you must hold the metal part of the inlaid stone with another hand. for loose stones, stone should be placed on loose stone testing base, and you must hold the base with another hand.
• gently apply the testing probe to the tested stone perpendicularly. for large sized stones, please move the testing probe on the stone’s surface back and forth to make sure accurate reading.    
• when testing the surface of a stone with the testing probe, if the tester doesn’t give out beep sound, the stone is a diamond. if the tester’s 4 red led bars in the upper indication window light and continuous beep sound could be heard, the stone is a moissanite.
• when the testing probe touches metal surface, the tester’s 4 red led bars in the upper indication window also could light and continuous beep sound could be heard.
• when switch is slid to ultraviolet, ultraviolet led will light, it will test fluorescent reaction of stones under ultraviolet light.
• after use, always slide switch to off.
• for moissanite tester, the volume knob doesn’t function in any way.
• replace battery immediately as soon as red light dims.   

caution:

•  the tester can only distinguish synthetic moissanite from diamond.

•  do not look at ultraviolet directly, it may harm your eye.

•  in case power red light becomes dimmer, please replace battery at once.

maintenance:
